Style – Red Carpet Moments

The red-carpet is a symbol of recognition of A-listers from award shows like the Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, the SAG and so much more. Fans both live and at home look forward to seeing their favorites highlighting the best styles and makeup with their significant others on their arm.

Now that the world is in a pandemic mode where social distancing, sanitizing, and face masks are highly recommended, the red-carpet events have been reduced to digital events. In 2020 many stars and artists have ingeniously made at home videos to highlight their awards and part of the 2021 ceremonies, this video award acceptance will continue.

Red Carpet – Grammy

Here we are a year later and slowly the U.S. and the world are ready to cautiously roll out the red carpet again, with restrictions. Let’s look at the first of the global red carpet award events, the 63rd Grammy Awards.

The Recording Academy has decided to go ahead with sponsoring both a digital and live Grammy Award Show. The event took place at several different locations. The Staples Center is one of the primary locations followed by four smaller venues in and around the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Was there an actual long red carpet featured at these locations? Yes, the traditional red carpet was represented as stars dressed in a variety of studded fashion designs that did not disappoint fans. Some artists dressed comfortably while taping at home.

Other stars who did make a personal appearance dressed up for the red carpet in designer clothing and were interviewed both live and in pre-taped videos. Trevor Noah was the host dressed in a Gucci tuxedo where five stages would play host to the musical entertainment with a limited audience took place.

Due to COVID-19, the artists were told to bring one guest. Everyone was socially distanced and there was a lot of sanitizing taking place. Entertainment Weekly and People’s Red Carpet Live staff interviewed the artists.

Who Are You Wearing?

The Grammys leading artists also wore red carpet designer fashions that are unique, however, with COVID, has halted much of this year’s award season. The popular fashion designers that were worn on the Red Carpet included:

• Burberry
• Dolce Gabbana
• Giorgio Armani Privé
• Gucci
• Louis Vuitton
• Oscar de la Renta
• Prada
• Roberto Cavalli
• Schiaparelli Haute Couture.
• Thom Browne
• Versace and others.

The intriguing red carpet Grammy fashion wearers included Cynthia Erivo who wore a long body slender silver glimmering grow with a square golden collar adorned with sequins, glass beads, and sequins. Doja Cat wore a green and black grown with floor draped feathers and a plunging neckline.

Noah Cyrus stood out with a high blousy halo draped top and floor length gown in a crème color. For the men, the red carpet award goes to Da Baby who wore a royal floral brocade suit. Harry Styles added accessories were multiple colorful boas as he was voted “Best Pop Solo Performance.”

Jhene Aiko was extremely elegant in a soft pink ruffle flowing gown by Monsoori. Also, for uniqueness, Phoebe Bridges wore a black and white floor length gown with a skeleton woven in the front.

These of course were the fashions worn on the red carpet interviews. However, another level of performance fashion and costumes were amazing on each of the different stages.

Crimson Moments

The Red Carpet in its crimson glory has been a part of Hollywood royalty since its beginning reign in 1922. Red carpet moments have been astounding and entertaining at whatever award show events it is placed.

Remember the red carpet entrance at the Met Gala of 2018 where Lena Waithe had donned an all-encompassing customized cape designed by Carolina Herrera that encompassed the LGBTQ flag. Exciting fashion drama is what the red carpet provides fans.

Red Carpet – Oscars

What is the Academy of Motion Picture Arts going to do for their award show in 2021? The 93rd Academy Award ceremony, two months later than normal, will take place on several stages. The Oscars also has restrictions for the stars. The honorees and presenters can only bring one guest and the ceremonies will be televised.

The Academy Awards will be shown at the Dolby Theatre (Hollywood) and the Union Station (downtown Los Angeles.) Will there be a red carpet? Of course, the Oscars are all about the red carpet experience.

In 2019, who can forget the Oscar red carpet fashionable tuxedo gown created by Christian Siriano and magnificently worn by Billy Porter. The red carpet was abuzz with awe of this outstanding gender-bemused fashion.

Endnote

It is anticipated that like other award ceremonies during COVID-19 pandemic, actors and actresses will dress up in their homes to accept the Oscar. Fashion designers are already working on the uniqueness of their fashion styles both for the live appearances and for the at-home acceptance speeches.

The red carpet experience has also been responsible for launching the career of international stars. For example, Elizabeth Hurley was a working actress in the UK who had done some minor work in the U.S. Ms. Hurley wore a daring Versace dress on the red carpet. Let’s just say that her career in U.S. movies took off!

Red carpet appearances in spectacular gowns and tuxedos is a direct path for the stars. Movie stars walking the red carpet are the modern-day royal figures, parading with uniqueness, as well as regal pomp and circumstance.
